Compared to the last report: Trade activity is good with very good demand.
Export and Dairy hay demand is very good while retail hay demand is good.
Retail is up $1.00 - $2.00 and big bales are $10.00 - $15.00 more a ton.
Dairies are actively looking for high quality alfalfa, making their
presence felt in the hay market.
In Northern California, frost damage is an issue lowering yields.
The next available hay report will be May 22, 2026.
