DTN COMMENTS:  All remains quiet in cattle feeding country this afternoon 
with bids and asking prices not established. Significant trade volume 
will likely be delayed until later in the week. 

Today's slaughter totaled 109,000 head, 1,000 more than last week, but 
14,000 less than a year ago. Live cattle futures closed sharply higher, 
up 145 to 197, while feeder issues ended the day sharply to significantly 
higher, up 432 to 522. Beef cutouts are expected to close higher with 
light to moderate box movement.
